HopeHealth, headquartered in Providence, RI is hiring a nurse educator. The nurse educator will be responsible for developing and providing clinical and non-clinical education to external audiences including consumers and health care professionals in a variety of settings including, but not limited to, hospitals, long term care facilities, assisted living communities and community settings. Educational topics will cover subjects appropriate to hospice, palliative care and home care. This position will cover educational needs in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. This is a 32 hour/week position with benefits.

 

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • In alignment with growth strategy, develop and deliver presentations for consumer and healthcare professional audiences with the intention to educate on subjects related to hospice, palliative care and home care.
  • Work with external agencies in securing continuing education credits in alignment with audience requirements, (i.e. CE's, etc.)
  • Form, establish and manage a speaker's bureau leveraging HopeHealth's broad internal expertise across disciplines.
  • Research, evaluate, and develop materials, handouts, visual aids, exercises, etc. that will best incorporate the varied learning styles of individuals.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of programs, courses, curricula, training resources, lesson plans, materials, and visual aids and modify to best achieve learning objectives.
  • Proactively identify external educational needs across audiences.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals and community at large.    
  • Coordinate training/educational activities with agency personnel, contractors, community/professional organizations, and other providers.

 

Education / Experience:

  • Registered Nurse with 3+ years of experience in designing and delivering educational programs.
  • CHPN certification (Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse) preferred, not required.
  • Hospice experience highly preferred.
  • Self-starter and highly motivated individual.
  • Superior communication skills including public speaking and ability to engage with diverse audiences.
  • Strong proficiency with developing PowerPoint presentations.
  • Compassionate, empathetic and self-disciplined individual committed to the strong values of the hospice mission.
  • Valid driver's license, automobile insurance and own transportation.
